About the Scholarship

he Gratiot VFW Post 7805 of Ithaca established this scholarship fund in 2002 using excess funds the public contributed for the All Wars Memorial at the Gratiot County Courthouse.  Grants from this Fund are allocated in part to preserving the Memorial and in part to awarding this scholarship.  Graduating seniors from Gratiot County high schools are eligible for this scholarship for study at a college or university with preference given to relatives of United States Military Veterans.

VFW members believe these scholarships are a continuing tribute to our Nation’s veterans through the support of Gratiot youth in their pursuit of post-secondary education and ultimately in a secure and rewarding career path.  The Fund is growing rapidly due to contributions from Gratiot’s Veterans Posts, organizations and individuals.  Each contribution makes it possible to increase the number and value of scholarships awarded.
