James and Jean Andrews Vocational/Skilled Trades Scholarship


Scholarship Information

This scholarship supports Gratiot County students in the pursuit of post-secondary education in a vocational or skilled trades program. This scholarship will be awarded for the first time in 2020. 

Scholarship Criteria

  • Must reside in Gratiot County or be a current or previous graduate of a Gratiot County High School; 
  • Must be pursuing post-secondary education in a certified vocational or skilled trades program or at an accredited college or university;
  • Must be pursuing an education in skilled industrial, mechanical, construction, or similar trades;
  • Must demonstrate financial need;
  • Must explain briefly why he/she is deserving of this scholarship; 
  • Preference is given to graduates of Fulton Schools, but not to the absolute exclusion of others;
  • Preference is given to previous recipients who reapply, but not to the absolute exclusion of others. 
One scholarship available be awarded for as much as $700

Señora Kaufmann Memorial Scholarship


The Señora Kaufmann Memorial Scholarship was established in November 2020 by the family of Sally Kaufmann to honor her decades of service to teaching and continue her legacy in foreign language and education.  Señora Kaufmann’s passion for teaching Spanish and Hispanic culture, along with her special gift for connecting with her students and colleagues, made her a beloved educator.

Sally Kaufmann was dedicated to helping students further their education, achieve their goals, and literally explore the world.  She was a loyal confidant to countless students with whom she shared her wisdom and listened to their dreams. It is her family’s hope that the Señora Kaufmann Memorial Scholarship will assist Alma High School and other Gratiot County students pursue their passion in foreign language, travel, and international studies.
